Requirements:

Math 311 and 316 (required).
Problem sets will be distributed in class, about once a week. Assignments will be due on Friday in class. NO LATE ASSIGNMENTS will be accepted except in special cases. Cooperation is encourage, but final solution should be independent.
Homework will serve to give practice in problem solving, to reinforce concepts developed in class, as well as serve to supplement topics not covered in lecture.

Grading:

Problem Sets: 25%

There will be approximately 10 problem sets due Friday in class.

Midterm Exams : 40%

Midterm 1: Feb. 14

Midterm 2: Apr. 4

Final Exam: 25%
