Physics 301

Fall 2003

Hi, Welcome to the future home for the Physics 301, Thermodynamics and statistical mechanics, homepage. Rest assured that I'm busy working on our syllabus (which should be ready for the first day of class) and will return here when the time is right.

To be honest, I can't promise that this page will ever be that fanciful. However, I hope to make it USEFUL by putting down-loadable copies of lecture notes and homework assignments and solutions here (And maybe other things if the fancy takes me!).

The most important thing of note (and the only reason for this page's existence so far) is to warn you that there has been a last minute book change to accompany our last minute instructor change. We will be using Keith Stowe's book, Introduction to Statistical Mechanics and Thermodynamics. It's uncertain whether the bookstore will get our copies in time for the start of class, so you may want to investigate non-traditional means of textbook acquisition.

I look forward to meeting all of you in class and hope that we all have a successful semester.

Mark
